The Road Home and Lake Wallace, Wallerawang

Friday morning and we left Lake Cargelligo as our trip was all but over. The first main town we came to was Condoblin. We had been here once before which was on the trip prior to this one a few weeks earlier. When we were camped at Parkes we took the drive out to Condoblin to check it out. It was a good town and on that occasion we took a walk around and over the bridge but did not bother walking beyond the bridge very far as that was already the outskirts of town.

So as we approached the town from the west we saw a big display that we did not come across previously. I would have been so disappointed had we been told about it later and had not seen this display. It was only because we came from the west that we saw all this 'Ute Art'. Very talented artists had done amazing work with the common themes being a Ute and Australia. I could not help but photograph nearly all of them. They were so good.

We than had a good drive with lunch at Manildra, 40km from Orange. For future reference the showground had $15 power and water sites with brand new, clean amenities, BBQ, washing machine and right next to the golf course. Just great.

We continued on to stay at our predetermined camp that friends, Col and Di, had told us about. A free camp at Lake Wallace in the town of Wallerawang, just out of Lithgow. It was a huge park and had showers and toilets. Fantastic. A relaxing and pretty spot only a couple of hours from Sydney.

For future reference, we could not get TV reception but there is strong Telstra signal so you could plug your computer in for one of the digital programs or YouTube if you wanted. If you have a strong TV receiver you can point then antennae in the direction of the school (ie Mount Lambie) for reception.

The next morning we left for home and were there before lunch. It has been another great trip. We got to see many more towns in NSW that we have never seen before. That has always been something I wanted to do. We won't be travelling for a while. We might do a three month trip earlyish next year to WA to see the places we missed last time. I will play that one by ear as there are a few things that could cause that to be deferred. That would be OK, but we shall see. Ah, blow, back to work soon. Oh well till next time may God bless you all. Cheers, Pete.
